The Dive Source Named “Best of St. Augustine”
“The Dive Source has been selected for the 2022 Best of Saint Augustine Award in the Scuba Diving category by the Saint Augustine Award Program.
“Each year, the Saint Augustine Award Program identifies companies that we believe have achieved exceptional marketing success in their local community and business category. These are local companies that enhance the positive image of small business through service to their customers and our community. These eptional companies help make the Saint Augustine area a great place to live, work and play.
“Various sources of information were gathered and analyzed to choose the winners in each category. The 2022 Saint Augustine Award Program focuses on quality, not quantity. Winners are determined based on the information gathered both internally by the Saint Augustine Award Program and data provided by third parties.” — Saint Augustine Award Program

Your computer fails. Now what?
Can you keep diving if your computer fails between dives? Maybe. But it will depend on a variety of factors.
Dramatically improve compass accuracy
Underwater, compass navigation only seems to work over short distances. A simple technique, however, can make it work accurately over longer distances.
Spring Heel Straps: You will never go back
Of all the modifications you can make to your dive gear, none will give you more absolute joy than the addition of spring heel straps. Find out why.
Defeating your gear’s worst enemy
Your dive gear represents a substantial investment. Unfortunately, there is an element that is conspiring to damage that investment. Learn how to stop it.
It’s only natural
Knowledgeable divers seldom, if ever, use compasses. They rely, instead, on natural navigation. Discover the secrets most experienced divers already know.
Why dive at night?
Night diving allows you to enjoy some unforgettable encounters and see the underwater world in a way you can’t experience during the day.
What is Technical Diving?
Many divers assume they know what technical diving is and they mostly get it right. But not entirely.
Why Dive Nitrox?
Longer bottom times. Shorter surface intervals. And, possibly, greater safety margins. This explains why so many divers choose to dive Nitrox.
Understanding the Buoyancy Control Pyramid
Too many divers leave their entry-level scuba course with the impression that buoyancy control revolves solely around pushing buttons on a BC. Guess what? It doesn’t.

The Dive Source has not one but two modern dive boats. They’re fast, stable and can reach sites most others can’t. This means water that is deeper, bluer and richer in reefs, aquatic life and wrecks.
- The twin-hull design of each vessel provides an exceptionally stable platform and can better handle a variety of conditions.
- Both vessels are powered by twin, 150-horsepower Yamaha outboards for increased speed and reliability.
- Each vessel has a private head.
- Although we can legally carry up to six passengers, we limit charters to no more than four. This provides for greater comfort and personal attention.
